What you should know about hair-loss causes? Hair growth is not continuous, but cyclic and consists of three phases:
1. Active growth (Anagen), which lasts from two to six years;
2. Transitional period (Catagen), which lasts several weeks. The metabolic activity is slowed down and the base of the hair bulb starts moving towards scalp surface;
3. Rest period (Telogen), which lasts several weeks. The base of the hair bulb atrophies and obtains a cylindrical form. The new hair starts growing under the telogen of hair which is eventually shed almost the way permanent teeth replace the milk ones with children.
On the crown of the head or the back part of it, the hair grows around 16 cm a year, and in area of the temples around 14 cm. On normal healthy scalp, around 80-90% of the hair is in the anagen phase, 1-2% in catagen and 10-20% in the telogen phase. A daily hair-fallout of around 50-100 hairs is considered “normal hair loss”.
Disturbed hair growth cycle is a frequent cause of hair loss: there are fewer hairs in the anagen phase, and more hairs in the telogen phase of hair growth. The result: thin, brittle (breakable) hair, with increased loss, fall-out of hair.

DL-etylpanthenol is metabolized into pantothenic acid in the skin. It improves the state of already damaged hair, restores its moisture and protects it from harmful environmental effects and other adverse factors.
Amino-acids rich in sulphur, like N-acetyl-cysteine and N-acetyl-methionine, are effective against signs of seborrhea on the scalp, which helps prevent dandruff formation and increased oiling of hair.
